認字多不一定代表中文程度好,還要這樣⋯⋯

很多孩子在很小的時候就開始認字,閃卡、認字卡、認字書⋯⋯可是孩子的中文如預期的好嗎?其實並不一定喔~

很多母語不是中文的家庭,平時孩子接觸的中文詞彙比較少,認識字也是死記硬背,並不知道其中的意思,也不知道為什麽要記住這些字。比如說:「耳機」,耳朵的「耳」和飛機的「機」都是常用字,孩子大多都認識,但放在一起,很多母語不是中文的孩子並不能聯想到「耳機」是什麼。所以知道字的涵義,但組成詞語就不知道了,更不能正確使用它們,這樣認識再多的字也沒有意義。那麼我們應該怎樣做呢?我們不妨參考下面的方法。

首先,創造語境的環境。多使用不同的詞彙簡單準確的表達自己的意思。比如:‘我想喝水’也可以用‘我非常的口渴’這樣孩子也可以知道‘喝水’與‘口渴’有相關聯的關係,識別詞語的時候也就更輕鬆。

第二,父母和孩子一起讀繪本。從封面的標題開始入手,讓孩子讀一讀標題,接著再讀繪本裏面的內容,通過圖畫了解故事情節,爸爸媽媽再加以讀文字讓孩子們更清晰地了解故事情內容,就更好了。繪本內容裏有和繪本標題相同的字詞都可以指給孩子們看,讓他們加深記憶。如果是文中反覆出現相同的詞語,我們更應該抓住機會讓孩子找出來,加深孩子對這些字的印象。

第三,認字有技巧。大部分孩子認字都從筆畫較少的字開始,再逐步擴大認字範圍。但最好先讓孩子認識與自己息息相關的字詞,不要太過於計較筆畫多少,逐漸再誇大範圍。比如,‘寸’雖筆畫少,但對孩子們理解也比較抽象。可恰恰相反,’睡’的筆畫較多,但與每個人息息相關,解釋起來很輕鬆,孩子也容易理解,記住這個字也就很容易了。

第四,持之以恆。每個孩子自出生後有生俱來生物鐘不應輕易打亂,學習時間一樣跟隨者生物鐘,到了學習的時間沒有進行學習,也是擾亂孩子持久力的方式。所以更要養成孩子良好的學習習慣,千萬不要打亂已調整好的規律。就像吃飯喝水一樣,每天都在有序地進行,而不是今天多吃點,明天少吃點,身體也會吃不消,學習亦然。循序漸進地學習,孩子的中文水平必然會事半功倍。

寫了這麼多,僅供各位父母的參考,每個孩子都是不同的,教育他們也有五花八門各種方式。「優優」希望每一個孩子都有自己的學習方法,在成長之路上健康、快樂!

There are so many kids started to recognise words at a very young age. Different kinds of flash cards, word books etc. But it never mean their Chinese level are as good as their parents expected.

In those non-Chinese base family, kids are mainly remember the Chinese characters by their memories due to limited exposure on Chinese language environment. They couldn’t truly understand the meaning of the words and thus hardly remember the words. For example, the word 耳機 (ear phone) is combining with the word 耳(ear) and 機(machines). These words appear quite often. But for those non-Chinese base kids, they could barely link up what’s the meaning of it. Eventually they could only able to now a single word meaning but not combing words, neither using them correctly. So what could we do to help? Here are some reference that might helps.
1. Creating a language environment. Using difference phrase to express the same idea. Such as using “I’m thirsty” and “I want some water” to link up “Thirst” and “drinking” are related. This could also help with linking up correct verbs and nouns together.
2. Reading story books with your kids. Starting with the name of the book, ask if your kid could read out the heading the book and then the content. Using the pictures to help analyse the meaning of the story. Parents could read out the lines to emphasis some scenes to help them understand the story development. Point out the words which are also in the headings to deepen their memories. If there are words appear frequently, them we could ask the kids to point out in order to deepen their impression.

3. Special techniques. Most of the kids are starting from the simple words with few strokes. But actually they could start with words which are relating to their daily lives. For example, the word 寸(inch), it has 3 strokes only. However, it’s not relating to their life! So they are not able to memorise its meaning. But the word 睡(sleep) appears everyday in their life, so they memorise and understand this word so easily.

4. Persistance. Every kids has a different learning pace. Learning too early or too late are actually disturbing their own pace. Building up a learning habit and make Chinese learning becoming a routine like eating and drinking regularly every single day. From time to time, their Chinese level would definitely improve.

All above is only for your reference. Every kid is unique and they deserve having a suitable and comfortable form of education. “Green key” hoping every kid could find their best method and being happy, healthy in their childhood!
